What happens once your order has been picked?
When we first set you up on our WMS, we assign various rules to your products as part of the despatching process. These rules allow the despatcher to ensure your goods are being sent via the best and most efficient carrier possible.
The Fulfilling Station uses a range of carriers including, Interlink Express, DPD, Yodel, UK Mail, Nightfreight, TNT, Tuffnells, DHL International & Nightline for our parcels and Royal Mail & International Postage for Mail and small packet items.
The despatcher ensure the goods are packaged properly for transportation and then send the order to the despatch module. Based on the rules set against the products, the despatch module assigns the best carrier and prints out the required number of labels for the order. The despatcher affixes the labels to the packages and send them to the goods out area ready for the carrier collection.
The despatcher will then mark the order as complete which triggers our WMS to send back to your website all the information to show your order as complete. This will also include the name and consignment number of the carrier being used to ship your items. This means that you can pass the information directly on to your customers so they can track and trace there order.
Our WMS is also capable of sending your customer an email which can be customised with your logo and contact details, confirmation that there order has been despatched along with the tracking information.
